Getting people to join

Thank you to everyone who has joined and contributed so far. I think we're getting quite a useful collection of members and posts here now. Obviously, being a community site, the success and value of the site depends on the people who join up and contribute to the many discussions going on currently. It is for this reason that I hope you can send the link for this site out to everyone who you think might be interesting in the content here and have something useful to say. I am hoping to get to 100 members by Christmas but I think this might be pushing it a little. Thanks again to everyone for your commitment to the site so far - it's greatly appreciated.

Hi Everyone, still piping on about this, sorry. I've noticed we're gathering quite a following now - 43 at the last count. Great work everyone. It's nice to see quite a few people on line when I've been on recently as well. Not sure how many of you out there are web minded but just wanted a quick request. The way google works with ranking is based on quite a few factors. The main one is linking. The more sites that link to yours (and the higher they are considered by google) the better your site will do in the search. If possible, could everyone please add a quick link on their own websites, blogs, uni forums etc etc to try an raise awareness. you can embed special CW badges on your site if you like. These can be found over there - - - -> in the right hand column. Ta very much, keep up the good work :)

I've discovered a lot of my college friends do a bit of writing so i'll spread the word. Also i've floated the idea of forming a 'creative writing' enrichment group, I've been told to go make my case to the woman who organises these things. There is a journalism one, so why not a creative writing one. Anyway I'd have to wait till after all the exams and the new term in summer. But that'd be a really good place to spread the word

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Anything anyone can do to get people on here is great. It's nice we have a mixture of people from different writing backgrounds and different writing levels etc as it means everyone can chip in and give advice on everyone else's work
