Hello, Mark Raney here. I was invited to join this group of writers and finally made my way over here. I am virtually an unknown author that would love to be KNOWN. I have tried every conceivable avenue for the past 10 years with no success. I am still back at sqare one. I have a website at www.markraney.com. My books are all available at www.lulu.com in paperback or instant download. I would love for anyone to review any of my work and give me your opinion on my books. Why they aren't selling. Is it the internet? Me? What is the problem that I can't get one sale? Any advice at this point would be so appreciated.

Hi Mark, first of all thanks for joining CW. I would love to review some of your work if you would like to post some excerpts up. One thing I did notice is that your website is currently not working as I cannot access it form the link above. My only advice would be marketing which I am sure you already know. Try and embrace some new marketing avenues that have opened up in the last few years such as Facebook, My Space and Twitter and make sure that whatever you are using you always put links back to your site. The other tip would be links - to and from your site. Google rankings work on how good and relevant they think your site is so if you have big sites linking to you and you are linking to other sites that helps a great deal. For example, a small business might put links to a local council site, an article on the BBC and try and get onto sites such as Yell.com as well as all the free, smaller, local business directory sites. This same principle can be applied to marketing your books. Hope this helps.
