Creative Writing Resource for Budding Authors

I recently found an interesting post on the use of the comma, colon and semi-colon. This is an area I actually struggle with quite a lot and sometimes find commas all over the place that I have to remove on proof reading.

The article is taken from The Book Shed - an article called 'Dot Dot Dash'. http://www.bookshed.eu/toolbox/commas.php

Thanks a lot to the guys at The Book Shed for this useful article.

It might be being a bit cheeky but how about 1 milky way in a goldfish bowl - unwrapped?

Auuuuuuuuggghghhhhhh milky way (mouth hangs open Homer Simpson stylee)

Dammit I'm supposed to be working on an essay and you two have got me craving Milky Ways... ARG!

You never think of buying them as well. They're so little and pointless but then, when you have one, you realize you've somehow forgotten how amazing they are.

Sorry, I realise this probably doesn't help your craving :)

No, though nutella on toast might make up for the lack of milky ways... I'm off to the kitchen!

Nice :)

I recently discovered Peanut butter and jam sandwiches. I know what you're thinking . . .that's sick. I'm not even sure that this is what the Americans mean by Peanut butter and jello sandwiches but it is actually really nice. Not one for the weak hearted though. They're probably about 5000 calories per slice :)

Aw Man. You've got me wanting stuff now.

Haha yeah I discovered peanut butter and jam last year, I thought it was sick too, but it really is good.

I know! It's weird because when you first have it you think, 'This has to be so wrong' but then it tastes soooo good. My mum has the strangest thing I've ever heard of. She warms milk up and puts cheese in and lets it melt then drinks it out of a cup. Man, I want to heave just thinking about it. Beat that one...
Oh maaan that's gruesome. That'd be like drinking cheese sauce on its own! My boyfriend once made nutella on toast and then put a gherkin on top and ate it... thankfully that one was just a wind-up, not a regular ocurrance.

No way! That is sick.

Has anyone ever experienced the phenomenon that is "interesting coke"...?

It's the opposite of watered down coke, where there isn't enough water (or soda or whatever they mix it with) and all you get is the caffeine and sugar.

How did this discussion end up as a kind of Ready Steady Cook for bloody mentalists?

Go green peppers!! Yay! Mmmm memories of student days and daytime tv. How I envy you.
