Creative Writing

Creative Writing Resource for Budding Authors

I am a newly graduated student studying BA English and Creative Writing and have noticed that like University creative writing classes are still formed to help the select few.
As a sufferer of an undiagnosed high frequency hearing loss until the age of 15 years old leaving school with 0 qualifications. I have had to fight my way through shitty jobs and arrogant systems to prove that I was not stupid.
Finally at 45 years old I have my degree and I would like to help those who feel, like I did, that they are capable of so much more but can't find a way to do it or afford it.
I live in the Devon area UK and I'm looking for anyone who would be interesting in hosting a creative writing class. If you are a host then you get your class for free. All other participants will be charged at £5 per person per session. The will be no stop date to the lessons and no obligation to attend every one. The minimum number to form a class would be 5 paying people. It's affordable, you can learn at your own pace and you don't have to get massively in debt.
If you don't live in the Devon area I am also considering organising an online creative writing class so if you're interested send me a message.

Ok Dawn.
In my country, Congo, there is no studying opportunities and I am very happy you are eager to share. I am in NYc since last sunday and I would very much appreciate to have you telling me as soon as the online class is set up.
Thanks

Hi Dawn, that sounds interesting. I nearly missed your attachment so have had a read through and made some comments in the attached file but feel free to ignore any you disagree with. It is very interesting. At first I was surprised by the sudden shift from the first chapter to the second and was really getting into the first one but it has left me wanting to know what the relation between the two is as I am sure will be revealed at a later stage. Feel free to post some more.

Hi there, I haven't had chance to read through your comments yet but just thought I'd let you know the reason for the shift from the first to the second chapter. This piece is my dissertation assignment, I was assigned to write a 9,000 word novella (this being a part of a novel) and, given the word count restriction, I was advised to write the being of the end of society for the first part and then concentrate on the formation of a new society in
the second part. I now intend to write the whole novel whereby the first part you have read will become just a part of the first half of the story. I hope that makes sense.

Please accept my apology for this tardy response. Thank you for inviting me; however, much as I would like to participate in your project, I do not think that I can find the time to do it justice. Good luck, and keep writing.
